About April Forella, LMHC, LPC

You Don't Have to Be the Strong One All the Time…

Therapy for women who are tired of holding everything together.

You may be the woman everyone counts on.

You show up. You get things done. You take care of the people you love. From the outside, you may look confident and capable.

But privately, you may be exhausted from overthinking, worrying, second-guessing yourself, and trying to make everything “just right.”

Maybe you're tired of being so hard on yourself.

Maybe you're constantly wondering if you're doing enough.

Maybe you're saying yes when you really want to say no.

Maybe something from your past still affects how you feel, think, or respond today—even though you wish it didn't.

And maybe you're ready for something to actually change.

You don't need another person telling you to “just relax” or “think more positively.”

You need a safe place where you can be honest about what you're carrying.

A place where you don't have to perform, have the answers, or hold everything together.

That's the kind of space I strive to create.

April Forella, EMDR Therapist Palm City, Florida

please Hear me when I say:

This Is a Space for You to Finally Breathe.

I Believe You Can Feel Different

You don't have to spend the rest of your life managing anxiety.

You don't have to keep living under the pressure to be perfect.

You don't have to let old experiences continue defining how you see yourself today.

And you don't have to figure it all out before you begin.

Through approaches such as EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, CBT, and emotional regulation strategies, we'll create a treatment approach based on you—not a one-size-fits-all formula.

For some women, that may mean weekly therapy.

For others, a focused EMDR Intensive may provide the dedicated time and space they're looking for.

My role isn't to tell you which path you should take.

My role is to help you discover what you need and walk alongside you as you create meaningful change.

Living room with a gray tufted sofa decorated with colorful cushions including a yellow one and blue and white patterned ones. Behind the sofa, a large abstract painting with light and gold colors hangs on the wall. To the left, a window with a lamp and a potted plant on a table are visible, and a glass coffee table with books is in the foreground.

How I work

What I Want You to Feel When You Walk Into My Office

Safe.

Understood.

Accepted.

Hopeful.

You don't need to impress me.

You don't need to explain everything perfectly.

You don't need to know exactly where to start.

You simply need to show up.

We'll take it from there.

A Little More About Me

I earned my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and have worked in the psychology field for more than 23 years, including many years in private practice.

I specialize in working with women experiencing anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, and the challenges that can come with being the woman who is always expected to have it together.

I'm also an EMDR Certified Therapist, allowing me to offer EMDR therapy and focused EMDR Intensives for women who are ready for deeper therapeutic work.

My practice is located in Palm City, Florida, where I provide in-person therapy, along with Telehealth services throughout Florida when appropriate.

Therapy with me is…
