A therapist for Hobe Sound women carrying grief, trauma or change
Grief rarely follows a neat schedule. It can show up years after a loss, get tangled with old trauma, or arrive alongside life changes like an empty nest, a move or a shift in identity at midlife. Some women describe it as being fine in public and falling apart in the car. My grief counseling work makes room for all of that, without rushing you toward closure or telling you how you should feel by now.
When grief or distress is stuck to particular moments, such as a phone call, a hospital room or a hard goodbye, EMDR may help those memories feel less raw. We go slowly, and you remain in charge of what we focus on. If faith is important to you, Christian counseling is available as an option, with prayer or Scripture included only if you want them. If you don’t, your sessions simply won’t include them.
