EMDR Intensives & EMDR Therapy for Jupiter and Tequesta Women

If you live in Jupiter or Tequesta, your calendar is probably full before the week begins. Work, family, the drive down to Palm Beach Gardens or up the coast, plus the expectation that you’ll keep it all running smoothly. Searching for an EMDR Intensive in Jupiter, FL often means you’re ready to work on something real, but you can’t fit another weekly appointment into your life. That’s exactly what an intensive is built for.

I’m April Forella, LMHC, an EMDR Certified Therapist. My office is in Palm City, Martin County, about 30–35 minutes north of Jupiter and roughly 30 minutes from Tequesta, at 901 SW Martin Downs Blvd., Suite 306. I don’t have an office in Palm Beach County. That’s why a half-day or multi-day EMDR Intensive can make so much sense from Jupiter or Tequesta: a single trip gives you hours of focused therapy rather than one hour at a time.

Why an EMDR Intensive makes the drive from Jupiter worthwhile

Driving 30–35 minutes each way for a single weekly hour can feel like a lot. An EMDR Intensive turns that math around. After a 90-minute pre-intensive assessment, we meet for one to three days of 3-hour sessions, then follow up 1–2 weeks later. You make a few trips instead of dozens, and each visit gives you concentrated time to go deeper without the stop-and-start of weekly therapy or the rush to compose yourself before an hour runs out.

Intensives tend to suit high-achieving women who are ready to focus on one specific issue, feel stuck after earlier therapy, or simply need their healing to fit around a demanding life. They’re not a fit for someone in active crisis; if that’s you, please call or text 988 or call 911. You can read what EMDR Intensives involve and decide whether the format feels right. If you aren’t sure, the assessment is designed to help us answer that question together.

  • Half-day (3 hours): $1,350, including assessment and follow-up
  • Two days: $2,025
  • Three days: $2,700
  • Workbook included; private pay, not eligible for insurance reimbursement

Perfectionism, burnout and the inner critic

Many women who look for an intensive are not falling apart. They’re performing well and quietly exhausted. The inner critic never takes a day off, rest feels like something you have to earn, and every mistake replays for hours. That pattern often has history behind it. EMDR can help reprocess the experiences that taught you you’re only as good as your last result. My perfectionism therapy page explores this more.

Burnout often comes along with it: the Sunday-night dread, the short fuse at home, the sense that you’ve been running on fumes for months. With roughly 23 years in business before becoming a counselor, I understand high-pressure professional life firsthand. Healing isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about feeling free to be more fully yourself. If burnout is your main concern, see burnout therapy for women for how we approach recovery.

What to expect: first call to first session

Everything starts with a free phone consultation. We’ll talk through what you want to work on, whether an intensive or weekly EMDR fits better, and how scheduling could work around your commute. Call (561) 818-6964 or email april@aprilforella.com; I see clients Monday through Friday by appointment, and every message gets a reply within 24–48 business hours. If an intensive is a good fit, the 90-minute pre-intensive assessment is where we build your plan.

For women who prefer weekly therapy despite the distance, sessions are $200 for 60 minutes, or $400 for a 2-hour session. A longer session can make the drive easier to justify. Self-pay clients receive a Good Faith Estimate, and if your plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be able to request partial reimbursement for weekly or extended sessions. Intensives are private pay. The EMDR Intensive cost page explains what each package includes.

EMDR therapy near Jupiter: FAQs

Other nearby areas

Is there an EMDR Intensive near Jupiter, FL?

April Forella, LMHC, offers EMDR Intensives at her office in Palm City, about 30–35 minutes north of Jupiter via I-95 or Florida’s Turnpike. Intensives run one to three days of 3-hour sessions, with a 90-minute assessment beforehand and a 90-minute follow-up afterward. Because so much therapy fits into each visit, the drive from Palm Beach County can be well worth it.

How far is the office from Tequesta?

From Tequesta, the Palm City office is roughly 30 minutes away. The usual route is to I-95 at Indiantown Rd, north to Exit 110 (SR-714), then east to SW Martin Downs Blvd. If you’re scheduling an intensive day, it’s worth allowing a little extra time so you can arrive unhurried.

What does an EMDR Intensive day look like?

Each intensive day includes about 3 hours of focused therapy, with time for grounding and breaks built in. Work follows the plan created in your pre-intensive assessment. You stay present and in control throughout, and you don’t have to share every detail. It’s wise to keep the rest of the day light so you have room to rest afterward.

Can I do an intensive while I keep my therapist in Jupiter?

Yes, that’s often possible. EMDR Intensives can be done alongside your current therapist. Some women use an intensive to focus deeply on one memory or pattern, then continue their regular sessions closer to home. You’re welcome to talk with your therapist about it, and the free consultation is a good time to plan how the two can fit together.

Do you offer telehealth for Jupiter and Tequesta clients?

EMDR Intensives take place in person in Palm City. For ongoing therapy, telehealth for Florida residents may be possible when it’s clinically appropriate. Bring it up during your free consultation and April will talk through whether in-person, telehealth or a combination makes the most sense given the distance from Jupiter.
